AN ELEGANT WINE THAT SPEAKS OF A SENSE OF PLACE
OCFV Cabernet Sauvignon is a meticulously crafted blend of O’Connell Family Vineyards Estate Blocks, each expressing their distinctive terroir: the French Gate Block, Apple Block, Petit Verdot Block and Creek Block. Each block is harvested, fermented and aged separately, then blended to achieve just the right balance. The vineyard complexity results in a graceful wine with fine tannins, good acidity and intriguing complexity.
It is produced from certified organic grapes from our Estate Vineyard in the distinguished cooler climate Oak Knoll District of Napa Valley Appellation. This climate allows for longer hang-time of the grapes for long even ripening, allowing delicate flavors to develop. The result is consistently elegant wines with finely grained tannins and rich complexity.
The grapes are only touched by the human hand: precise hand pruning of the vine, selective dropping of the fruit to assure the proper load vine by vine, hand-harvested and hand-sorted. We aged the wine in a mix of new and once used French oak barrels of medium toast.
